Structural Panels
KC Panels offers two thickness of panels, both with urethane foam for improved insulation and fire protection, and sandwiched between two skins of 15/32" OSB skins for better strength. (Standard SIP panels have polystyrene core with 7/16" OSB skins.)
The 4 ½" panel has an R-27 insulation value, the
6 ½" panel has an R-41 insulation value.
Each panel is custom manufactured to meet your plans in widths for
6" to 4 ft wide and from 6" to 32 ft tall.
Insulating connectors are the method of connecting one panel to another. They are pre-installed in the structural panel when made at the factory. At times, field changes require panels to be modified or changed. Extra connectors can be purchased to accommodate for these changes.
Insulating slab’s are sheets of urethane foam with no skins. These sheets can be cut with a standard handsaw to fit into stick frame members or other non-standard panel applications. If a large round corner was desired, this could be stick framed with the insulating slab pieces cut to fit between studs, providing insulation more comparable to the rest of the panel structure.
This product is non-structural and only has one skin. It comes in 4 x 8 sheets and is intended for insulating for existing structures. It could be used on the inside of a wall or ceiling were increased insulation is desired. It could also be used to re-roof and existing structure that requires added insulation.
